KOLKATA CITY TOUR

Old China Town (Tiretta Bazar)

Tiretta Bazaar, often referred to as Old Chinatown of Kolkata, is one of the earliest Chinese settlements in India, dating back to the late 18th century. Established by Chinese immigrants—mainly Hakka and Cantonese communities—the area became a hub for trade, cuisine, and cultural exchange. Today, it is famous for its traditional Chinese breakfast stalls, historic temples, and remnants of Chinese clubs and schools, offering a unique glimpse into Kolkata’s multicultural heritage.
