Dhotrey is a small, scenic village located in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal, near the India–Nepal border. Situated at an altitude of around 8,500 feet, it is known for its peaceful environment, dense forests, and panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas. The village lies close to the Singalila National Park, making it an important stop for trekkers heading toward Sandakphu and Phalut. Dhotrey is surrounded by lush greenery, rhododendron forests, and rich biodiversity, attracting nature lovers and birdwatchers. Though remote and less developed, Dhotrey offers a glimpse into simple mountain life. Its untouched beauty and quiet charm make it an ideal destination for those seeking solitude and natural landscapes away from crowded tourist spots.

Tumling is a small, scenic Himalayan village located on the border of West Bengal and Nepal, at an altitude of about 2,970 meters. It lies along the popular Sandakphu Trek route and is often the first overnight stop for trekkers starting from Manebhanjan. Tumling is known for its breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga range and, on clear days, even Mount Everest. The village features peaceful surroundings, and a rich mix of Indian and Nepali culture. It is also close to Singalila National Park, home to rare wildlife like the red panda.

Aahl is a small high-altitude settlement and viewpoint located along the trekking route near Sandakphu, the highest peak of West Bengal. Situated at around 3,500 meters on the Singalila Ridge, Aahl is known for its breathtaking panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas. The place is especially famous for its spectacular sunrise and sunset, where peaks like Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu can be seen glowing above a sea of clouds. The name “Aahl” comes from a local term meaning “slushy land,” as the area was once swampy before being reshaped by landslides. At present it has developed into a small trekking halt with basic guesthouses and serves as a popular stop for trekkers on the Sandakphu–Phalut route.

Timburey

Timburey is also part of the Singalila National Park region, making it rich in flora and fauna, with chances of spotting rare species like the red panda. It is a small Himalayan village located near Sandakphu lies at an altitude of around 2900 meters and is usually visited as part of the Sandakphu–Phalut trekking route. The village is known for its serene environment, dense forests, and scenic landscapes. The trail from Sandakphu to Timburey passes through meadows and rhododendron forests, offering beautiful views of Himalayan peaks like Kanchenjunga and Everest.

Gurdum

Gurdum is a small, picturesque Himalayan hamlet located in the Singalila range of Darjeeling district. It lies at an altitude of about 7,000–8,000 feet and is an important stop on the popular Sandakphu trekking route. Gurdum is known for its serene environment, dense forests of oak, conifers, and rhododendrons, and panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. The village has only a few families, making it a peaceful and less crowded destination ideal for trekkers and nature lovers. It is commonly visited while descending from Sandakphu towards Srikhola or Rimbik, offering a scenic trail through lush forests and wildlife-rich areas. The place is also famous for its clear night skies, stargazing opportunities, and complete escape from urban life due to minimal connectivity.

Sandakphu is the highest peak in the Indian state of West Bengal, located at an altitude of about 3,636 meters (11,929 ft) in the Darjeeling district. It lies on the border between India and Nepal and is a part of the Singalila National Park. Sandakphu is famous for offering panoramic views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu. The view of the Kanchenjunga range is often called the “Sleeping Buddha” because of its shape. It is a popular destination for trekking, especially via the Singalila Ridge route, attracting adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. The region is also rich in biodiversity, with rare plants like rhododendrons and wildlife such as the red panda.

Day 01 :  Pickup from NJP/Bagdogra and transfer to Manebhanjang.
Day 02 :  Transfer to Tumling via Chitrey, Meghma, Tonglu.
