B. B. D. Bagh (formerly Dalhousie Square) is a historic administrative and commercial center of Kolkata. It is surrounded by iconic colonial-era buildings such as Writers' Building, Raj Bhavan, GPO and St. Andrew's Church. The area was the headquarters of British administration during colonial rule and played a key role in India’s governance. Its name honors freedom fighters Benoy Basu, Badal Gupta, and Dinesh Gupta. Today, it remains a prominent heritage zone reflecting Kolkata’s colonial history and architectural grandeur.
